Longest Paper Airplane Flight
Takuo Toda, a Japanese engineer and creator of the Oriplane, is the world record holder for longest paper plane flight. The flight in the video lasted 27.9 using one piece of paper with a piece of tape. This plane glides beautifully...whenever I throw a paper airplane, It heads right for the ground. Toda's secret? Aim upward so the plane has time to slowly circle downward. I am sure his being an engineer and a "origami virtuoso" have something to do with it. He is now working on perfecting a plane with no tape and aiming for a 30 second flight. His is also working towards launching a paper plane from space and have it land safely to Earth.Check Toda's site for folding techniques. Give it a try and let us know how it works for you!
